New accelerator programme Tech By Her opens call to female-led tech ventures – Ghana

MEST — the Pan-African training programme, seed fund, incubator and hub for tech entrepreneurs in Africa — together with Make-IT in Africa run by GIZ, the German agency for international co-operation, are calling on female-lend startups to apply for a new accelerator programme. KWIKS leverages combines a proprietary platform with a curated talent pool technologically supplemented with public and private data sources to quickly offer top-tier talent to its customers. The company is already operational in Morocco, France, and Belgium, delivering qualified candidates in IT, consulting, CRW, and finance to employers. South African Company Ayo Launches A $13 million Annual Fund For Investment In African Startups

African startups have a new fund to pitch to. Johannesburg South Exchange listed technology investment group, Ayo Technology Solutions has launched a $13 million fund aimed at African startups. Ayo, which is currently at the centre of a controversy around a $275 million transaction from the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), made the announcement in a statement recently. Ayo has said that there is nothing untoward about the PIC transaction. New $100m Nuwa Capital fund to target East African startups

Former Wamda Capital managing partner Khaled Talhouni has launched Nuwa Capital, a new fund to invest in tech startups in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, as well as in East Africa, Pakistan and Turkey. The fund was launched on Monday (10 February) at the Step Conference in Dubai by its managing partner, Talhouni. While Talhouni did not reveal how much the fund had raised, tech publication Menabytes said in an that the fund is targeting a first closing of $100-million. CTA awards digital solutions at SARA in Abidjan

The Salon International de l’Agriculture et des Ressources Animales (SARA) – the international exhibition of agriculture and animal resources – is one of the biggest agricultural events in West Africa. The competition was open to young entrepreneurs aged between 21 and 40 years old. Nineteen start-ups were selected to take part in the final stage of the competition. Algerian mobility startup temtem launches carpooling in North Africa with KAROS deal

Algerian mobility startup temtem is bringing car-pooling to the North Africa region via a partnership with French company Karos. Founded in 2017 by Kamel Haddar and backed to the tune of US$4 million in VC funding last year, temtem assists its 500,000 customers with its ride-sharing service. It is now rolling out a car-pooling service in partnership with Karos, the French leader in home-to-work car-pooling. The company is expanding internationally for the first time by teaming up with temtem.
